D-Link has announced a range of new security cameras in its Vigilance business series. There are six models, three of which are dome format and three of which are bullet format.

Both formats are available in three different resolutions: 2, 4 and 8 megapixels. The dome cameras are the DCS-4612EK, DCS-4614EK and DCS-4618EK, respectively. The bullet cameras are called DCS-4712E, DCS-4714E and DCS-4718E. The models with an 8-megapixel sensor support video resolutions up to 4K Ultra HD.

All six of these new cameras are suitable for outdoor use and are IP66 dust and waterproof. They are also IK10 vandal-resistant and can display sharp images up to a distance of 30 metres at night. Recordings are compressed with H.265 to be instantly transmitted to the network video recorder. They can be managed with the free online D-ViewCam video management software.

16-port NVR

In order to store the data streams from the various security cameras, D-Link introduces the JustConnect DNR-4020-16P Network Video Recorder. This is an all-in-one solution that can handle the recording of up to 16 cameras simultaneously. The device features sixteen 100Mbit/s ports to connect to the security cameras. These ports also provide up to 120 watts of Power over Ethernet, so the cameras do not need their own power outlet. A single gigabit Ethernet port connects the NVR to the rest of the network.

The DNR-4020 can handle H.265 video compression, allowing more video data to be stored in the same space than H.264. For storage, the device has two SATA ports to connect hard drives, providing a maximum storage capacity of 16TB. There are also a few USB ports available to connect external hard drives for backups. The whole system can be managed with the JustConnect+ app. This allows users to remotely manage the recorder, watch live video streams and make recordings.

Availability

The DCS-4618EK and DCS-4718E are available immediately for a suggested retail price of 155 euros. The models with lower resolutions will follow later, the price for those is not announces yet. The DNR-4020-16P is available immediately for a suggested retail price of 427 euros.
