Dutch organizations love applications to support their business operations. The Netherlands outperforms large countries with an average of 108 apps per company.

This is evident from research by Okta. The Netherlands also stays ahead of the United States, where a company uses an average of 105 apps. Companies even rely significantly less on tools in Germany and France. German organizations use 55 apps on average, while the French average comes out to 67 apps.

Europe

The Netherlands’ leading position is somewhat remarkable when you consider that it is the only country to show a slight decrease compared to last year. All other countries show percentage increases in enterprise app adoption. The EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region has an overall annual growth rate of 6 per cent.

Okta also sees companies in the EMEA region prioritizing security tools, which differs from Asia and America. On the contrary, companies prioritise tools for sales, data, and collaboration. The fastest-growing app in EMEA is Keeper, a password management solution for enterprises. Year-on-year, this app experienced 63 per cent growth. Globally, the compliance tool Vanta tops the list of fastest-growing apps, with 338 per cent growth.

Interestingly, Google Workspace and AWS are tech startups’ two most popular solutions. Earlier, productivity suite Microsoft 365 was the market leader in this group, but it now has to settle for third place.
